Common questions

How do I start or pick up where I left off?

Start a new session from the home screen and choose a year, month or date range, then run quick filtering. Narrow the range if it exceeds 500 photos. Use the home screen's continuation action to resume. Save and pause the current session before starting a different task.

Photos missing, or access denied?

Check Photos access in macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos. Deletion requires full Photos access and system permission; support cannot grant it for you. iCloud photos may need downloading, and location details may use Apple's place-name lookup. Image analysis runs on your Mac.

Does marking a photo delete it?

No. Review each candidate, check the exact final list and explicitly confirm before the app requests system deletion. If the result is unverified, inspect Apple Photos first rather than repeatedly confirming the same batch. The app does not automatically retry an uncertain deletion.

Can deleted photos be recovered?

iCloud deletions may sync to other devices. Apple Photos manages Recently Deleted, recovery eligibility and deadlines, subject to library and system conditions. Zeying does not empty Recently Deleted or guarantee recovery.

How do I change the app language?

Settings → Language offers Follow System, Simplified Chinese and English. Save your session, quit normally and reopen. macOS controls system dialog language. The website's four languages are separate from the app's two interface languages.

What about old sessions and local data?

Use Import previous session records to select an old Private folder, inspect it and explicitly confirm importing into an empty destination. Existing records are not overwritten; old deletion decisions need individual review again. Reopen after importing. Do not replace the app container manually. Uninstalling may leave records, caches or preferences; there is no erase-all-data action. Save or back up first and ask support for version-specific cleanup instructions. Do not send your complete private records; support must not ask you to send them remotely.

Where can I buy it, or request a refund?

Purchasing and downloading are not available yet. A US$9.99 one-time Mac App Store download is planned; local prices follow the actual store display. Purchases and refunds follow applicable Apple processes. Refunds are not guaranteed.
